High quality audio, anywhere
For users looking for a high quality, PC/Internet based home audio system, Turtle Beach offers the AudioTron, a wired solution for routing audio around the home. Using a HomePNA phoneline network or ethernet network, the AudioTron is able to scan hard drives on the network and stream digital audio files off of them.
Enjoy your favorite MP3s from the living room. While audio files are stored on local PCs, the AudioTron does perform the actual decoding on-board. There is full support for all file formats, from basic .wav files to MP3s of any bit-rate encoding along with support for ID3 tags.

Packaged into a slim, rack-mountable case, the AudioTron should integrate seamlessly into any existing home audio system. Furthermore, its RCA and optical SPDIF outputs provide for high quality output.
The AudioTron also includes an IR remote with special options for designating play lists and genre distinctions. With an entry price of $299, the AudioTron should fit nicely into the developing MP3 home audio market.

Turtle Beach has licensed the AudioTron to Gateway, who will be marketing it as the "Gateway Connected Music Player" which should be available next month. Turtle Beach's AudioTron should be available shortly after the Gateway box hits the market.
Coming Soon
Currently, the AudioTron only supports playback of music files stored locally on any networked home PC. In the near future, however, Turtle Beach is planning to support online streaming audio for those with broadband connections (that's 50% of our beloved readers). This opens up the possibility for access to online news, weather, sports, and radio stations on one's home stereo, all with the touch of a button.

Turtle Beach is also considering future hardware upgrade options, such as a DVD, CD-ROM, or solid-state drive. Since the AudioTron does its own decoding, adding on-board storage will always be a possible an option for future product revisions.
