The AI is solid overall, though as with most sports games there are considerable bumps in difficulty when switching over from one setting to another. The 2K series of titles has never been blatantly obvious in making goalies superhuman while neglecting team AI as difficulty ramps up, but this can still be an issue. Still, that’s not to say that Visual Concepts doesn’t rely on goalies entirely to keep the scores down, and it’s not unusual to make 50 shots but score only 3 goals at higher difficulty settings.
