Crimson Skies, some of you may have played the role-playing game, but chances are most of us hadn't heard of it till this game popped up. Crimson Skies takes place in a post World War I era that took a distinctly different turn. Following the defeat of Germany, the United States went into hardcore isolationism. At this time prohibition was being enforced in some of the states at levels that make Elliot Ness look like the Pillsbury doughboy. Depressed and without alcohol, the country was floundering; the final smack down was the crash of the stock market in 1929. Within the next year Texas, California, New York, and a majority of the bigger states filed for extended leave from the good old U.S. of A. Many regional conflicts erupted, as a result travel and commerce became exceedingly difficult over land. Highways and railways were far from secure modes of transport now. Intro the airplane, once an interesting notion thought of by two guys named Orville and Wilbur. Taking to the air was now the only viable solution.

Following this rise into the air, it seemed only natural that crime would tag along, if not for the ride alone. The advent of air pirates wasn't too far off. In the following years the pirates generated a considerable amount of hoo ah. Some of the former states even gave them asylum for attacking other new nations.

Destitute you
Enter you, Nathan Zachary, a former poor boy and pilot during World War I. Following the war, Zachary attended college, matriculating from the prestigious Oxford University. Wanting a bit of the high life Zachary worked his way into the upper echelon to sit back with the fat cats. His goal, however, was not to be one of them. He wanted to show them that he was better than them; in the end he realized that he turned out the same way. Power corrupts. Following the stock market crash, Zachary lost everything. To most people this was a setback; to Zachary, this was the wakeup call. He set out on his path to piracy, or as some people like to call it, P2P. He wanted to live in the now, and by golly, from the looks of the dames alone it looks as though he succeeded.
