Verdict
While it’s great to be able to play an old-fashioned shooter on the Gameboy Advance, it’s hard to give an exceedingly high score to a nine-year-old game. The controls on the game were more solid than expected, and shooting up the demonic hordes just never seems to get old. But the problems with the Gameboy Advance’s screen, and the slightly higher pricetag compromise Doom GBA’s overall value. If you’re a huge fan of Doom, and would like to get a portable fix, then you’ll enjoy Doom for Gameboy Advance and shouldn’t hesitate to pick up a copy. But if you prefer newer experiences, you’re better off spending your money on other titles.
