Aye, Captain
We've gotten our grubby little hands on Deep Space Nine: Dominion Wars, the upcoming Star Trek license game by Gizmo Games and Simon & Schuster. This is only an Alpha+ build, but it's already showing its potential. We've taken it for a spin around the Alpha Quadrant, and here's what we have to report. But first things first; what the hell is this game about?

Ripped from the headlines
Maybe not from the real headlines, but the story of Dominion Wars is taken directly from the "real" Dominion Wars from the last two seasons of the Deep Space Nine television series. You can command battles taken directly from the show, as well as a few battles mentioned only in dialogue. This is very cool if you're a fan of DS9. Think that the Dominion could have beat down Sisko and the Defiant? Or maybe the Klingons could have picked up the pace. It's up to you in Dominion Wars.

While the Star Trek shows have always been about moral and ethical questions, Dominion Wars is all about action. Ask anyone who's a Star Trek fan, and most likely their favorite part of the shows is the space combat. Dominion Wars doesn't have much else. At its core, Dominion Wars is a squad-based RTS. You control one to six ships in tactical combat. There's no resource gathering, and no building management. Before each mission you are given money to outfit ships - your performance in a mission helps to determine how much money you'll have for the next mission.
