What what what?
I was talking to a friend of mine and mentioned that I was reviewing a game called Evolva. Her first thoughts were those of utter revulsion, it went along the lines of - "You review games like this?" She heard Evulva, blame my pronunciation. A little disappointed as to where her thoughts had drifted, I proceeded to toss this game onto my computer. Who could have thought a catholic schoolgirl could think such things?

Not Again...
My first taste of Evolva was when I was looking for games to use for the FSAA articles. I was toying around with the demo back then and the game looked pretty darn cool. Four funky warriors to push around in some fantastic looking levels along with truly amazing looking creatures. The glistening backs and evil looking claws were enough to draw me in. I don't even have to mention the snot or the mutator yet.

After getting the full version a few weeks later, it started to dawn on me that most of the new games coming out these days are really blending genres quite well. Even as I write this I'm wondering where to place this in our index. It has elements of a role-playing game, in that your characters have stats. It is squad based so it requires a bit of strategy. It is also a third person shooter (is that even a sub-genre?). I think I will have to place this game in that all encompassing of genres, action!
