Story

The Fable

The people of earth begin to master the power of DNA. All goes well, people are prettier, and they live longer and better. Is everything just peachy? No. Things go wrong, earth gets too crowded and WWIII starts. Following the war, everything is all Skittles and beer again. By the time the population reaches astronomical heights again interstellar travel is possible. Man starts to inhabit different planets and star systems. Everybody lives happily ever after? No. (Notice a theme yet?) Planets infected by large parasites are found. The parasites would suck all the life out of a planet and then explode it to spread their seeds. For lack of a more appropriate term think of this situation as a dandelion, but feel free to use your imaginations with this though. Forces of Genohunters are made to stop this from happening again. You were chosen to command a squad of 4 Genohunters: your mission, save the planet.

He is heavy

As far as stories go this game had a smidgen more than Quake 3. Aside from the few paragraphs that you read in the manual there isn't much. Not a bad plot though, but nothing was ever done with it. After the initial cut scene there isn't any plot development until the end of the game.

The Objectives

At the beginning of each mission there is a screen mentioning the objectives and goals. There isn't really a story here either. I wasn't complaining about the lack of story development while I played the game though. This game falls more into the run around and annihilate category. Hopefully the multi-player aspect of this game really pans out. Then the lack of a storyline will make even less of a difference.
