Ballistics Report

Pros

Combat
Smooth, simple and elegant action is a feature that gets too little credit for the success of Fable.

Immersive world
It may be all smoke, mirrors and global flags and triggers, but the world is immersive with puzzles, quests, missions and plenty of fighting.

Character growth
A very organic character development system that is the key draw of the game. Though it doesn’t quite live up to the hype, it is undeniably smooth.

Sound
The voice acting and sound effects are excellent. Some of the voices feel hammy but they fit in with the comical parts of the game.

More to do
Apparently, there are more missions and an extended storyline.

Cons

Writing
The most glaring chink in Fable’s armor is the steady stream of plot holes and illogical behavior by major personalities.

Depth
Like GTA: Vice City or San Andreas, the player can accomplish a lot on the side but none of it has any particular depth. Unlike the GTA games, the standard plot and optional missions aren’t as involved or numerous.

Graphics
The chosen art style smoothes over the game’s rough edges but there’s no denying that this an Xbox title running at higher resolution.
