Corrupting America's Youth

When Grand Theft Auto was first released around Christmas of 98, it made a big splash with gamers all around the world. Sure the gameplay was simplistic - reminiscent of those old Amiga/Atari driving games, but hey, it was about stealing cars and evading cops! What more fun could there be than that? Add in a bunch of weapons and some Hare Krishnas and voila - you had Grand Theft Auto. The cities were large and varied, and it offered a premise so fresh and inviting that authorities around the world castigated it and in some cases, banned the game entirely! Check out these shots to see how GTA2 is progressing.
