The fate of the world is in your hands

It is 1943, and the world is torn in the grip of World War II. Millions will be involved in the war; as soldiers, as dictators, as innocent civilians. It is a small group of expertly trained commandos, though, who will have a very real impact on the course and outcome of the battles that lie ahead. Hidden and Dangerous, due out this summer, allows you to command this group of Allied soldiers.

Choose your team

The game spans two years of the war and is set in six different locales throughout Europe. All of the places you visit, things you see and use, even the clothes you wear are as authentic as possible. The game's designers even interviewed veterans of the war to get the feeling and mood of war-torn Europe, and from what we've seen, they've done quite a job. You can choose from thirty different soldiers to create your team, from British Special Air Services men to Czech resistance fighters to members of the Norwegian Royal Army.

More than meets the eye

Hidden and Dangerous is neither a typical strategy game nor a typical first-person shooter. You can control your men via a first-person, third-person, or overhead strategy map view. As your team is four strong, it's vital to your mission to use each man's special capabilities to your advantage. The idea in this game is not to run in with guns blazing, but rather, to coordinate an attack and catch the enemy off guard. For instance, in one of the missions we got to play, you have one man snipe off the shooters in guard towers while the rest of your force sneaks in and rescues hostages trapped in a hangar.

Creeping up on the enemy

As H&D combines elements of strategy and first-person action, it has elements to attract fans of both genres. Not only that, but a fan of say, FPS's is likely to find the addition of strategic elements a welcome addition to the action they're used to.
