Gameplay
HUD
The in-game HUD is fairly decent, no fancy overly large graphics or gaudy lettering. Just like a Hitman, the HUD is completely understated. The information you require is provided in an unobtrusive manner. Our only gripe with the entire menu system arises out of the map page. Some of the levels can be rather large, making the map a very essential tool. Once again, tools that other games had perfected even back in the day of Doom were somehow lost here. The map screen loaded an entirely different part of the game in order to be accessed. It didn't take too long to get there, but this is a map we are talking about; should any type of load screen be necessary?
Once we got to the map, scrolling around it with the browsing hand and magnifying glass proved to be a little annoying. The map itself was fairly useful in terms of navigation, getting around it was a slight problem. Oh well.

Single player
As each mission starts off, you are assigned your target on a "laptop" screen. All the vital information you need for a mission is provided here. Surveillance pictures and videos are provided depending on the stage you are on. The videos were a really cool touch. You get the usual video of some guy walking along, looking about and then continuing on his path. Straight out of spy movie this is - I like.
The information you receive at the beginning of a mission is generally just the tip of the iceberg in most missions. The bare minimum is given to you, the rest - you have to figure out. This is seriously the best part of the game. You really have to think in order to get past most of these missions.
Included in all this, is how much you will get for terminating your mark. I'm not a contract killer or anything, but the amount you receive for killing people this important seemed rather low. Most of the cash you receive is in the low five-figure range. The worst part being, you have to pay for your own equipment!

A key note about carrying weapons in this game is to keep them concealed. Walking around with a 0.50 caliber Desert Eagle can get you in quite a bit trouble in the real world, as well as in the world in which Hitman walks. You can even attract attention by running next to enemies while disguised, if they are on the lookout for someone suspicious.
Despite the fact that your role in this game is to execute people, you do not have free license to kill just anyone. Killing cops and civilians will usually result in a loss. This kind of behavior attracts too much attention, but remember folks, killing bad guys is ok.

Throughout most of these missions, stripping down unsuspecting victims is quite common. Dragging bodies to sewers and dumpsters is even more common. All this is made possible through the right click system. This menu system also works on opening and using things. It's one of the few things in the control system that they got right.
