Ballistics Report

Pros

AI
HOI2 had fairly decent AI and Doomsday steps it up a bit to boot.

Gameplay
This is without a doubt the finest grand strategy World War II game ever.

Music
A great selection of tracks, beautifully composed.

Value
The improved AI, extended play, and new features – combined with the $20 price – make Hearts of Iron 2 Doomsday a steal of a deal. If you’re even curious, get it. I mean, seriously, this is like 4 coffees at Starbucks.

Cons

USSR-USA conflict tedious
This comes down to personal taste, but the great war between the Soviets and the Allies is more tedious than fun. It’s just too big.

Expecting more?
The only other con we can think of: if you were expecting more from a stand-alone, you’re going to be disappointed.

Continuing minor interface quirks
There’s little been done to help some of the smaller interface quirks, like the tedious process of adding brigades to divisions in an army.
