The Cast of Characters
Magically Delicious Killers
Although you can play as all three characters of this particular A-Team, you are not given a choice, except on the last level. Surprisingly this does not hinder the game, as each character has their own level, designed for their style of play. Even the final level plays differently, depending on which character you choose. This prevents the game from getting boring and methodical, adding refreshing changes of game play.

Max, a six-legged canine created by Dr. Hawkins, was apparently designed as the biped, and therefore gets around on two legs. This conveniently frees up the other four "arms" for holding, err, weapons (Don't get ahead of me…). This ingenious design decision on the part of Dr. Hawkins ultimately makes Max into a John Woo movie hero. He has the most hit points of the three, and can use up to four guns simultaneously. There's no subtlety about him. On the levels where you play as Max, you will always find plenty of guns lying around (who leaves these anyways), and plenty of targets to use 'em on. You run in, shoot the place up, and you get out. Plus, Max comes fully equipped with a jetpack, for those hard-to-reach places. Through it all, he puffs away at a cigar, because even dogs have an image to keep.

Dr. Hawkins on the other hand, is your typical nerdy-wuss, all brains and no brawn. He can barely jump, and can't even pull himself up from a ledge. Rushing Dr. Hawkins into the heat of battle is not recommended. Luckily, levels involving Dr. Hawkins are filled more with puzzles than enemies, requiring you to use a little more than just your reflexes. An example of "it's not the number of hands you have, but how you use them", you will find items such as toasters and bread lying around for you to pick up (Kurt the janitor is too busy killing aliens planet side to clean it up). It is up to you to combine these various items together to make useful items that help you get through the level. Things such as an atomic toaster paired with bread make an explosive breakfast.

As Kurt, the game plays like your typical platform shooter. You run, you shoot, and you fly/glide around in your special Coil Suit, which derives its name from the coils that can be extended to act like a parachute. The Coil Suit Kurt wears makes him look like a Batman-wannabe-aardvark, mostly because of the shape of the sniper helmet. This allows you to go into sniping mode, zoom in and out, and pick off the enemy at leisure. This isn't just some useless feature, as there are points in the game where sniping is essential.
