Big Robot Fun

Welcome to our new feature on Firingsquad - weekly Metal Fatigue screenshots! There's a good possibility that we'll spice up future updates with short interviews from Zono's Jason Hough, one of the designers of Metal Fatigue. Do you have any burning questions that you need answered about this hot RTS game? (Hopefully ones that haven't already been answered in our previous Metal Fatigue Preview or our Metal Fatigue Interview) If so, then send them in! I'll forward the best ones to Jason for our updates.

What is Metal Fatigue?

Metal Fatigue brings a host of cool features to the RTS genre, namely modular units, and a three level battlefield. The modular units come in the form of giant robots called "Combots." To build these combots, the player decides which type of arm fittings (weapons) to equip them with, as well as a ton of torsos and leg fixtures that give the combot more weapons or special abilities. The combination of dozens of pieces allows for hundreds of possibilities. Metal Fatigue also features a fully rotatable and zoomable battlefield, thanks to its entirely 3D design.

 Random Fact
Metal fatigue is a property of metals that relates to its elasticity and brittleness. When you bend a paper clip back and forth many times, it eventually breaks because of metal fatigue.
