Interview and shots from Sept 2
9/2/99
We've got half a dozen new Metal Fatigue shots this week and a couple of interview questions answered by Jason Hough of Zono. Thanks to Kevin Malone for coming up with the questions.

Kevin: "Question number one is whether or not you can fight against the same
side (Rimtech us Rimtech, Mil-agro us Mil-agro ,Neuropa us Neuropa). If
so how will you tell one side from the other. Would they be different
colors, or some other way. This would mainly be for multiplayer games,
because they say your going to be able to have eight players at once
over a LAN."
Jason Hough: Yes, you absolutely can fight aganist the same side. In all cases the enemy
is a different color than you. In single player missions, occasionally you
must fight aganist your own, and in these cases we pick a color for the
enemy. In multiplayer, no two players can be the same color - no matter
what side they've selected.

Kevin: "The second Question is about customization of the combots and
vehicles. Will there be any way for people to make there there own
models for use in the game. This could be just custom paint jobs
(different divisions inside the CorpoNations) or new 3D models. These
would most likely be just cosmetic changes, if you made the entire torso
one giant barrel it would still do the same amount of damage."
Jason: Well, we wont be including any tools with the game that allow this kind of
customization, but I suppose if someone figures out our file structure they
could write some tools to extract models and textures, and then allow mods
to them.
All of our models are created and animated in Lightwave 3D, and the texture
maps are all drawn in Photoshop, so there really is no Zono created tool
for doing this kind of thing that we could include.
