Unit Profiles
Units
So this is a Real Time Strategy game; what kind of units do you get? Myth 2 includes a plethora of units, each with unique strengths, weaknesses, and purpose. In the single player game you only get to play as the forces of Light. This limits you mainly to Bowmen (they shoot arrows - DUH) and Warriors (your plain vanilla swordsman), with help from other special characters. These include of course, the Dwarves. Dwarves come in two varieties and they love their explosives. The regular Dwarf throws Molotov cocktails (for you people out there who never participated in a riot, Molotov cocktails are makeshift grenades made out of bottles of volatile liquid, lit with a cloth fuse) but be careful because they don't always detonate as expected. Windy weather conditions, rain, or snow will make the reliability of Dwarven grenades even worse. There are other Dwarves, the Mortar Dwarves, whose range is better and explosive punch more reliable. Also assisting the forces of Light are the Berserks (faster and more powerful versions of the Warrior) and Journeymen, who have healing capability.

The Dark side gets a lot more variety, because hey, being evil is more fun than being good, right? Missile weapons for the Dark are provided by the Soulless. Basically they're skeletons that chuck spears and can float over any terrain. Other interesting evil units include wolves, werewolves, brigands (evil Warriors), Wights (zombies that explode when they die), and Ghols - fast moving little monsters that can pick up and throw items that are left lying on the battle field, including arms and legs! Unfortunately for the side of Light, Soulblighter can also call for the services of Warlocks - evil wizards who can cast powerful fireballs or confusion spells - or the fearsome Fetch that shoots lightning.
The bulk of the evil units you'll be facing are Thrall and Ghasts, basically skeletons and zombies that move very slowly and attack with axes and fists. The good guys also have to worry about the powerful Mauls and Stygian Knights, the latter of which are immune to arrows. In multiplayer games, players get a nice mix of ALL the units in the game, including the non aligned ones like the huge, powerful Trow, and the giant Cave Spiders.
