Intro

One has to wonder if the EA marketing team ever considered the acronym Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed would receive from the online community. It's funny, every website that I've visited uses the words: "NFS: PU." PU. Not quite as bad as the 3M PMS, but pretty darn close.

PU!

For the uninitiated, Porsche Unleashed is the fifth in a series of racing games that has more or less hit the mark in all its sequels. Where other racing games have floundered, the Need for Speed series has excelled. Instead of focusing solely on the accuracy of the car physics, Need for Speed blends action into the equation. Top it off with cool videos, fast music, and excellent graphics and you have one very popular racing game.

This latest version, if you haven't already guessed, is based around the cars of Porsche. Our preview thought fairly highly of Porsche Unleashed; we're hoping the final version is just as good.

For starters, Porsche Unleashed picks up right where the others left off and ups the graphics ante by a significant margin. Active scenery and skies are just some of the perks. Read on to see where this game truly excelled and the parts where we felt as though we were driving on nothing but rims.

 Quick Thought
Since playing this game, I've undertaken the silly notion of purchasing a 928. Dopey me will be dejected after I find out that I can't afford it.
