Story
What's this game about?
Nocturne puts you in the shoes of "The Stranger," a trenchcoat/fedora wearing, ass kicking, monster hunter. The Stranger is a member of the Spookhouse organization, a secret government bureau whose goal is to track, investigate and contain supernatural occurrences. Like most of the Spookhouse agents, the stranger has a dark, sketchy past but is deadly efficient at his craft. FS news readers may have heard us describe Nocturne as a cross between the X-Files and Alone in the Dark. Well, the back story is where the X-Files connection comes in.

What am I up against?
The Stranger is sent out to deal with just about every supernatural monster you've ever heard of in any good campfire story. Zombies, werewolves, vampires, ghosts, demons, giant insects…you name it, and Terminal Reality included it in the game. You'll not be going out alone all the time. The stranger has several sidekicks from the agency who help him out in combat, gathering information, and equipping items and weapons.

4 acts
Nocturne is set in the 1930s and there are 4 separate "Acts," each of which happen in a different locale - Chicago, rural Texas, France, and Germany. Each act is subdivided into several chapters (a chapter requires 1-2 hours of gameplay) and is completely unrelated to any of the others. This means you'll be able to play them in any order. Since each the Acts are unconnected, this gives Nocturne that pulp fiction feel to it. It's like you're getting four full stories in one. Nocturne is like a good night at the campfire - you don't just listen to one person's scary story - you are treated to horror of all shapes and sizes.
