Ah, the classic spy flick. Lots of gadgets, lots of action, and, of course, lots of innuendo. Is there anything not to like? No One Lives Forever (NOLF) thrives on the classic spy theme, except with one minor change. Our suave, debonair super agent is now a woman. Does that change anything? Hardly. It just means that your character is now on the receiving end of all the sexual advances.

When Fox first announced that NOLF was going to have a female lead role, people thought that the game was heading straight for the trailer park. Most people presumed that NOLF was going to target the same kind of acclaim that Tomb Raider receives. We're glad to say that this game has a lot more than a pretty face attached to it. At just about every turn this game managed to impress us on some level. Whether it was the enemy AI, or the great levels, this game definitely has more than just padding.

Story
The plot behind NOLF is as nefarious as one in any spy movie you will see. NOLF follows in the footsteps of James Bond straight down to the shaken martini, for good measure, Monolith also threw in a slice of Austin Powers.

Your mission is of course to save the free world. Could they in good conscience settle for anything less? So what evil plot is afoot this time? An evil organization bent on nothing short of world domination through whips and chains? No. A madman threatening to blow up the moon? No. A super-evil group known as H.A.R.M. using a new lethal biological explosive? Yes, but that was too serious. These biological explosives aren't like conventional chemical warfare. No sir, we are talking about the variety that makes kittens, puppies and humans into ticking time bombs. One second you're slurping milk out of a bowl, the next moment you're in the bowl. It's your mission to stop this from happening.
You play the role of Cate Archer, a female thief turned super-agent. In case you haven't noticed, puberty was inordinately kind to her. Her rendering is based off of a real life model/actress named Mitzi Martin. She has been in such critically acclaimed roles as "The Jumpsuit Chick #1" in Dude Where's My Car and "The Woman" in Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man.
Everyone has to start somewhere.
