Radio Controlled Mayhem

Some of you old school game players out there may remember a fun little game on the 8-bit Nintendo called RC-ProAM. It featured boxy looking "RC Cars" that could be outfitted with special tires, engine enhancements, rockets, bombs, and more! This cool little racing game captivated gamers for hours with its simplistic, yet fast paced and addicting game play. Fast forward, it's over a decade later and 3D acceleration is hitting its hey day on the PC. What would you say to a 3D RC car game that offers almost 30 different cars, 14 tracks to race on and 7 unique environments? Not only that, but you can play this one multiplayer over the net with up to 11 other players in racing and battle modes! Welcome to Re-Volt, the upcoming RC car racing game from Acclaim.

Features

Re-Volt features stunning 3D graphics in up to 32 bit color. The lighting and shadow effects create a immersive atmosphere that is complemented by the real physics used in the game engine. Your cars all have a specific mass and handling characteristics that will affect how they stand up in a collision or a tight turn at high speeds. Don't worry; it's not too realistic because your cars are unbreakable. Flipping the car means just a split second penalty as you wait for the computer to flip the car back over. The price of admission to play Re-Volt on a PC is a 3D accelerator card (required), but for the amount of fun we had just playing the demo, this game would be well worth it. Think the 14 tracks aren't enough? The game will ship with a track editor so you can create new challenges and save them to share with your friends.
