Gameplay

And on that farm he shot some guys

Shadow Company is all about killing badguys and blowing up their stuff. Each mission, you're presented with a different location to kill different people and destroy different buildings. Actually, the different part isn't always true - the second map is simply the first map expanded outward to include more space.

The whole focus of the game is, or should be, stealth. After all, you're a few measly commandos (you can control up to 16 at once) up against a multitude of baddies. You don't want them to discover you, so you should take advantage of your small numbers and kill them swiftly and quietly. Go in for the silent strike with the knife, kill from afar with your sniper rifle, or put someone out of their misery with a silenced SMG.

Attacking the base

Guns blazing

Unfortunately, the enemies are as intimidating a force as a flock of vicious attack sheep. In fact, I would've much rather fought the sheep than the abysmal AI present in Shadow Company. Being stealthy hardly matters; enemies don't seem to notice when you kill their comrades, nor do they start suspecting something's up when running across a pile of dead bodies.

In fact, the only time the enemies are much of a threat is when your men decide to out-stupid them. Sometimes, our team of four men would ambush two soldiers, kill the first one, and then get completely and inexplicably wiped out by the second. Little glitches like this, though, are nothing compared to the aggravation of say, trying to get in a boat. Either your men are of the melt-in-water variety, or they're deathly afraid of the ocean. All we know is that twice in a row, we lost at least half of our team to the sea when trying to board a boat that was half in the water, half beached on shore.
