Pros

Gameplay
A very unique and interesting style. It may not be for all players, certainly not those used to 15 minute decisive battles, but it’s at least worth a shot.

Graphics
The game is attractive and functional, with an engine that scales impressively from small frigates to a wide view of the various systems and planets.

Interface
It’s not perfect and the key binding is rather poor, but the vast amount of data the game throws at you is handled admirably, while permitting the player good control of his empire.

Cons

Expectations
Not a con with the game per se, but Sins of a Solar Empire is really a new kind of game, which may put off people with expectations of it being a standard grand strategy or RTS title, when it’s a hybrid of both.

No campaign
RTS campaigns are generally hit and miss, but they can at least serve as some sort of introduction to gameplay for new players. A singleplayer experience that isn’t merely a skirmish mode may prove more satisfying for those inclined to explore the backstory more.
