Interface

Thresh's comments in BLACK

CalBear's comments in BLUE

Is it easy to play?

CalBear:
The interface is pretty standard for PC users, but is much improved over the N64 version where you have to play with a controller (/me shudders in disgust). You can use the mouse and keyboard or keyboard only to move and shoot with your character. You also have the choice of using any directinput compatible controllers or joysticks if you INSIST on using control pads.

Turkey
Radar makes everything a Turkey shoot

The graphic interface is very simple and clean. In the top left corner you can see which of the four kids you've picked up and which one you're currently using. The top center lists which weapons you're carrying, and which one is selected. The bottom center also shows you which weapon you're carrying, just like most first person shooters. Finally, in the bottom left hand corner is the radar, which is not very standard for first person shooters. Tougher enemies are shown in red, easier to kill enemies are yellow, green dots are friendly forest creatures ("They're coming right for us!!") and blue means one of your pals that you haven't picked up yet. The radar comes in handy for spotting where incoming turkeys are coming from, or to show where to find your opponents in a multiplayer match.

The items in the game are pretty cute, but at the heart of them lies basic first person shooter items. Instead of health boxes or medikits, you get Cheesy Poofs and Snacky Cakes for 10% health and full health, respectively. Beefcake canister gives you invulnerability, the lightning bolt gives you double the firing rate, and the triangle gives you double damage. You can also pick up Mr. Hankey the Christmas poo. He functions as a shield against incoming fire, and will damage anyone that gets too close. Finally, there's the Zip cola, for extra running speed.

 Random Fact
During one famous WWII Pacific naval battle, American anti aircraft gunners shot down so many Japanese planes, they called it a turkey shoot. Since the battle was in the Marianas islands, it was called the Marianas Turkey Shoot.
