WiiFit (May 19): It's already sold 1.5 million copies in Japan since its release in December and now Nintendo hopes that success translates to the US. Combining a unique controller that turns your feet into a game manipulation device, WiiFit will have both fun mini-games (a la Wii Sports) with actual exercise programs. It's not a hardcore game, but it will certainly appeal to a broader range of people.
Age of Conan (May 20): It's taken a long while, but Funcom’s long awaited MMO based on Robert E Howard's fictional fantasy universe is finally close to release on the PC. One of the very few “M” rated MMOs, Age of Conan will have an extensive single player element to the game as well as lots of PvP content, including a way to both create and siege entire player built cites. Oh and there will be topless female nudity..had to throw that in.
Haze (May 20): Developer Free Radical and publisher UbiSoft have delayed the release of this near-future shooter for several months, but it finally looks like this PS3 exclusive title will find its way to stores this May. Your character's outlook on life as a corporate soldier takes a turn when he finds out that he's been pumped full of drugs to make the world seem a lot more benign than it actually is. Look for lots of shooting and even four-player co-op...neat.
Lost Planet: Colonies (May 27): If you haven't pick up Capcom's 2007 released sci-fi action game, just wait until this re-released version comes out for the PC and Xbox 360 console. Priced at the budget level of $29.95, this game ads a bunch of new multiplayer maps and modes and includes cross-platform multiplayer between the Xbox 360 and PC ports....
Alone In The Dark (May): Publisher Atari and its majority shareholder Infogrames need a major hit desperately (they have been dealing with financial issues for the past several years) and they are hoping this revival of their long running survival horror game franchise does the trick. Developer Eden Studios is using their own graphics engine in the game, set in a New York City where very bad things are happening. With a script written by the man who wrote the screenplay for the movie Sleepers, this title could finally be the big hit Atari/Infogrames has been waiting on (the game should be released for the PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS2 consoles).
Lego Indiana Jones Adventures (June 3): While we would prefer LucasArts release the game based on that really cool E3 2006 Indiana Jones tech demo, we have to admit we are also looking forward to this family friendly version of the first three Indiana Jones movies. Developed once again by Traveller's Tales, Lego Indiana Jones looks to have all of the fun platform and action game features of their Lego Star Wars titles. And snakes...why did it have to be snakes?
