I'm certainly not a hardcore Star Wars fan, but I really enjoy the movies, and most of the games. I went to see the latest movie, Phantom Menace purely because it was part of the Star Wars collection. Compared to the originals, I didn't enjoy it very much, but I would probably watch it again just to see the light saber scene again. But the key thing is, I would pay to see it based solely on the fact that it has the name Star Wars attached to it. And I will probably watch the next two on that same premise. But when it comes to games I get a bit picky about what I would be willing to spend fifty dollars of my life-blood on. I will not buy a game based on hype from its franchise. At least I hope I don't. But it seems I succumbed to the brand, and was blinded for a brief period of time when I loaded this game.

Q.C. Baby, Q.C.

Star Wars. Man this franchise has been going for some time now, over twenty years worth of movies, toys, games, and other assorted paraphernalia. You'd think some kind of quality control would have evolved to protect such a powerful brand from being tarnished. For the most part they seem to have weeded out the runts. But every now and then one of them gets by and manages to besmirch the greatness that is Star Wars.

Force Commander has been in the works for some time now, but it's finally been released after two or three years of development and an entire reworking of the graphics engine. After years of promising control of Imperial Armies and reenactments of great battles, we finally get to do the bidding of the Emperor. Read on to see what happened, and what didn't.
