Think back to Total Annihilation: Set in a technological future, an epic battle of galactic proportions raged on for centuries between two races, the Arm and the Core. By two milleniums turn, a victor was still nowhere in sight. But the war had taken its toll on the place they called home - their galaxy, once brimming with life and minerals, was now a scorched wasteland. There was nothing left to live for - and thus, the only acceptable end to the Great War was the complete and total annihilation of the other. It's the end of civilization as we know it.
Now rewind 10,000 years.
We find ourselves in the magical realm of Darien, where two different sides once again clash in a historic battle of good and evil - civilization never learns, does it? Following the likes of Star Wars, Cavedog takes you back in time with its next release, Total Annihilation: Kingdoms. As siblings, the four factions (representing the elements Earth, air, water and fire) ruled their own separate lands in peace under their father's domain. But as he passed away, the greed of the immortal monarchial siblings sprout forth, bringing an end to the once peaceful kingdom and spawning the beginning of an all out war.

The four sides collided and two camps emerged - Representing the good was the Earth and water, representing the evil was fire and air. Each side has its minions, which they called upon to wreak havoc on the others' lands. Massive armies will collide and grand fortresses will crumble in the wake of the full-scale magical and technological warfare. With the story in place, let's tell you a little about its jazzy new features and enhancements.
