The Units
Four unique sides
The four unique sides represent each of four elements: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. The Earth side will have units that mainly focus on land defenses, and offenses like cannon, catapults, etc. The Water side has a great number of different ship types. Air has a lot of flying units, while the Fire side is evil and relies a lot of dark magic and evil spells. Joe also noted for me that the builder or factory units of the Zhon (Air race) are completely mobile - they have no static production buildings. Another thing that Joe emphasized was that even though each race has a natural specialization, they are fully equipped to handle any battle situation. Water won't necessarily dominate sea maps, etc.

Do you believe in magic?
The magic units in TAK each come with several spells, many of which cost mana of course. The smaller spells cost no mana and do a small amount of damage. Each magical unit will also have a larger, more damaging (and possibly area effect) spell that costs a lot of mana. An example of this is the mind mage unit. This bad boy can cast an area effect capture spell that will turn enemy units to your side. Imagine an AOE priest on steroids and you have the basic idea of what this fearsome unit can do.

Experience is priceless
Units can also gain experience in TAK. As they fight, your units go up in levels, up to level 10, and along they way they get armor and weapon bonuses. At level 5 you'll see units get gold trim to alert you that they're becoming more bad-ass. At level 10, the armor level is doubled from the original value, and they get fully decked out in gold trim, showing their elite status.
