Gaming debauchery

Now that all the chaos of E3 has had over a month to sit with us, we start to think back on the madness that bombarded us. There are literally hundreds of new games that you pass by every day of the show, and it may be tough to pick out exactly which ones are worth spending more attention on. Certain outstanding games show their greatness immediately. Half-Life 2, Deus Ex 2, Halo 2, and Gran Turismo 4. You KNOW that those are going to be quality based on the pedigree.

Then there are the games that become sort of a blur during the hectic three days of the show. They're the ones that just get lumped in the “yeah, I saw that" pile. But weeks later, some of those games come crawling back for revenge. And these are the games that you suddenly wish you could play again, this instant.

Every E3 virgin experiences massive sensory overload, but we've been around the block, so to speak. Still, every time we attend the expo, we find ourselves numb to most of what we see after the first couple hours. It's like having a good three day long pub crawl – it's crazy during the first couple stops, but after that, everything just starts to blend together. Only weeks later does the insanity catch up with you, and that's what we're here to talk about. These are the games that have caught up with our insatiable gamer appetite over the last month; and these are the games that you should be keeping an eye on.

Isn't that water color painting from Metal Gear Solid one the coolest gaming artworks you've ever seen?
I wish I had posters of this stuff.
