2 in the past….
The game starts, as we mentioned, in 12th century Europe - Vienna and Prague to be exact. Unique landmarks from the real life cities will be included in the game whenever appropriate. For instance, in one of these cities, there is an old graveyard that became so overcrowded, tombstones are bumping into one another, and there exists layers upon layers of bodies laid to rest as the graveyard became used over the decades. Obviously, this is a detail too good to pass up so it will be in the game. An outside artist was used to draw mockups of buildings to be used for these cities. They have a genuinely gothic feel, but with added touches like symmetric spires that rise up out of the roof like devil's horns. Combined with the dark, moody lighting, Prague and Vienna engender a definite medieval feel - an ideal setting for vampires.
Each of the cities is like a hub, with city streets, pubs, cathedrals, graveyards, and underground catacombs to explore. You'll also be able to venture a short ways outside the city, but generally vampires do not like forests because these are the domain of vampires' racial enemy, the werewolves.

…and 2 in the future
At some point in the game you'll end up playing through modern day London and New York, just before the turn of the millenium, when the finale of the game takes place. In these modern day cities, you'll be exploring more city streets, docks, secret rave clubs (hey, more Blade!), sewers, ghettoes, and upscale urban areas. While your weapons of choice in the past were mainly swords, maces, shields, and bows, the future will have decidedly different weapons at your disposal. These include modern day favorites like shotguns, pistols, assault rifles, incendiary grenades, and stake guns. It's also worth mentioning that clothing style changes depending on the era. Capes, cloaks, plate mail, and chain mail are the fashion rage in 12th century Europe, but in modern day London and NY, it's all about blue jeans and leather jackets! A Vampire is never out of style.
