Ballistics Report
Pros
Gameplay
The updates in Victoria: Revolutions, while not perfect, are a big step forward from Victoria as we last saw it.
Music
We never get tired of the musical selections that Paradox puts into its games.
Price
At $10, Revolutions is a good value at a low price. Any Victoria player should get it.
Cons
Missing text
Too many missing descriptions of events and invention choices.
Some old issues remain
Partisans popping up as regular army units is something we’ll never quite tire of complaining about. Also, the ability to buy provinces from the AI is often exploited in multiplayer.
New problems
Despite being a significant step forward in gameplay, some quirks remain. Notably the inability to rid oneself of Pacifists, or build military factories during even the most epic conflicts.
Elections
Election outcomes are depressing and predictable. Once you industrialize, expect wimpy liberals to rule with anti-military or pacifist tendencies (or at least building endless clothing factories, if laissez-faire). You can have good conservatives for head-bashing, but only if you keep your country rural and backward, or increased risk of revolts as a constitutional monarchy. Choose your poison.
