As a combined look, it's hard not to recommend AMD. The price/performance factor on their chips cannot be ignored. Although if you are in the neighborhood for a new computer, you might want to chill for a little bit and see what happens after the dust settles. The next month or two will herald many new products. NVIDIA will be releasing their nForce boards, giving another option to the AMD line. Around the same timeframe Intel will be releasing an updated version of the Pentium 4; and to the boon of many an Intel fan, VIA will be releasing the P4X266 chipset, giving DDR support to this line of CPUs.
