AMD
We were almost on target for our weekly price update. Maybe we'll make this update every two weeks, as most of the time seven days is barely enough for most of these companies to realize that somebody issued a price cut. Either way, here we are, another week, and more prices.

Comments
Curiously enough, prices for the AMD processors tended to go up this week, not by very much though. We did notice that there are really only two or three CPUs that are worth buying. Most of the Thunderbird lineup tends to hang around the $100 mark, making the flagship 1.4 GHz the obvious choice for anything in this range. With the faster processors you are guaranteed good performance, along with a better chance at obtaining a processor with good overclocking potential. In the Duron scene, the 1GHz dropped in price since its' debut last week, although it still doesn't quite make the cut as a good deal. For those on a budget, getting the bottom of the barrel Duron might be a good idea. For around $40, you get a good bang for your buck.
The Athlon MPs haven't really budged too much in price. As it stands, these are not worth buying at the moment. The price/performance differential does not justify the extra cash spent.
