BayCooler I

Inclose, a company that makes various accessories for PCs, has a small line of coolers named BayCooler. The BayCoolers are 5.25 inch brackets that house fans in the front for the cooling of 3.5 inch hard drives. The design is nothing new, but solid. The Baycooler has 2 fans in the front, which hold the duty of moving air around the hard drive. The Baycooler II is only different in that it also has 2 fans, but it has a cut-out ready for the mounting of a third fan, which is not included. Also, the BayCooler II comes pre-assembled, but I don't believe there is much assembly required, except for adding the little rack for the 3.5" hard drive. These units are sold by ChipCool at $11.95 U.S. for the BayCooler, and $25.95 U.S. for the BayCooler II.

Destech HD-100
Destech has a nice, modest 2 fan unit. There are no specifications given about the unit, and Destech's site appears to be down. Regardless, running 3 fans' worth of air, even if they are not super-powerful, is still a step in the right direction! The mounting is the same as all of the other designs - a hard drive sits in the bracket, which has fans mounted in the front of it. A & P Tech has this unit for a nice price tag of $11.50 U.S., and so does 2CoolTek, at the same price.

Atacom also sells a unit that looks identical, but calls it "Just Cooler" for Hard Drive". It also has 2 ball bearing fans, and sells for $14.95 U.S.

HD-200 There is a unit similar to the HD-100. It is appropriately named "HD-200". This unit has 3 40mm fans mounted on a bracket, which the hard drive also mounts to. The fans blow air above, below, and around the drive. This unit takes 3.5" hard drives. It can be found at 2cooltek under the descriptive name "Harddrive Cooler". It costs $14.50 U.S.
