Guillemot Maxi-gamer Xentor
Xentor 16
Well-known outside of the US for their PC controllers and peripherals, Guillemot is including the TNT2 in vanilla and Ultra versions, but they're spitting in the face of convention to do so. The Maxi Gamer Xentor 16 is their budget TNT2 entry, but it's not what you'd expect. Shunning the blasé symmetry of 125/150, Guillemot has upped the ante to 135/166MHz, and thus uses higher-speed 6ns RAM to accommodate the speed increase. Only a heatsink has been included, and it remains to be seen whether or not the cooling potential will be enough to satisfy the TNT2 overclocker.
Bundles of joy
Guillemot has just announced the games bundle to be included with the Xentor 16, which includes a special limited version of Xatrix's
Kingpin: Life of Crime, and Ubi Soft's smash-up racer,
Speedbusters.
Ultra Xentor
In addition to a 16MB vanilla TNT2, Guillemot is also packaging a 32MB Ultra powerhouse, the Xentor 32. Originally intended to clock at 175/195MHz, just a hair short of 200MHz, Guillemot's website now claims a 183MHz memory clock. This makes more sense with the standard 5.5ns RAM used. Of course, an active fan/heatsink combo is included, and the card will ship with the same Kingpin/Speedbuster combo as the Xentor 16.
