Ballistics Report

Pros

Fast: The ASUS MyPal A620 is the fastest Pocket PC on the market today.

Excellent Screen: The ASUS screen is both bright and contrasty, making it perfect for gaming.

Pocket PC 2003 Premium: The Pocket PC offers better Outlook synchronization than Palm OS. The Premium version of Pocket PC 2003 means that the device features a microphone, an image viewer, and the Jawbreaker game.

Lightweight: The MyPal is among the lighter of the Pocket PC's available on the market today.

Good value: At under $350 and just above $300 street, the Asus A620 is undoubtedly a pricey product. That said, compared to other Pocket PC's in its class, the Asus A620 is a bargain. It's the fastest PDA hands down, and doesn't waste money on items such as fingerprint recognition.

Compact Flash: If you don't know which memory card format to best for you, the answer is compact flash. This is the format that will have the greatest longevity, and is the memory card format of choice for digital cameras from Nikon, Canon, and all prosumer and professional grade digital cameras. If you already have a digital camera using SD Card, then you'll want to look for a PDA other than the ASUS.

Cons

No scroll wheel.

Light software bundle.

No built-in WiFi 802.11b:A version with integrated Bluetooth (A620BT) is available for a street price of approximately $400.

Fewer aftermarket options: With the more popular PDAs from HP/Compaq, Toshiba, Sony, and Palm, you can find aftermarket upgrades such as keyboards, screen protectors, or other accessories very easily. With the ASUS A620, you are currently limited to ASUS-branded accessories which may be hard to find off line.

Back! So why the ASUS MyPal A620?     Final Verdict Next!
