The Goodies

The Bundle

With a card that costs as much the 8460 Deluxe does, you expect to have some extra goodies. The pack in its entirety contains the following items:

Software:
WinCoder
Win Producer
ASUS DVD2000
Video Live Mail 4
ASUS SmartDoctor
ASUS Tweak
ASUS Digital VCR
ASUS Video Security II
Aquanox
Midnight GT
Rage Rally

Hardware:
3D Glasses
Video breakout cables.
DVI to VGA adaptor

Thoughts on the stuff

Surprisingly ASUS adds more benefit to their product through their own efforts. The bundled software included with the card in no way compares with what they themselves developed in-house. Starting off with the games, we still really wonder why they bother bundling them. Unless they can really get some A-list titles (which is nigh impossible), they might as well pass on the savings to the customer by not including it.
To go along with the video editing properties of this card, ASUS also provides some programs that get the job done well enough for those who are not of the hardcore variety. After all this is bundled software, you weren't expecting professional grade software were you?

The various ASUS programs are pretty handy if you get around to using them. The Video Security program is actually pretty cool. It allows you to monitor who comes by your computer and accesses it while you are away. You can even select what parts of the viewable area of the camera you want to monitor. While quite the boon to those who are paranoid, this isn’t really practical as a full proof security measure. If we had a TV to hookup to the computer we’d be all over trying out the Digital VCR, but alas we can’t play with everything all the time.
