Notes
We've practically included the entire Athlon family in this review, the only processor missing is the Athlon 950MHz. This should give you a good idea of which processor offers the best performance given your budget.
We debated long and hard on the video card. In the end the GeForce DDR was used due to its cost. We considered using a GeForce 2 GTS to better highlight the performance differences at higher resolutions, but figured you'd appreciate us using a video card you're more likely to afford.
If you'd like to compare the Athlon 700MHz numbers to the Duron at 700MHz, please refer back to our ASUS A7V review. While we realize a different motherboard and driver set was used in that review, it should give you an idea of the performance difference between the Athlon and Duron at the same clock speed, as well as Duron numbers at 998MHz.
