Final Verdict

The Abit BP6 is quite a motherboard. Besides the fact that it is the first dual socket-370 motherboard, it comes at a great price, and offers plenty of newer features which make it quite future-proof. These features, like PC 99 compliance in many areas, Ultra ATA-66 compliance, and AGP 2x support insure that the BP6 is a motherboard that can keep up with technology as we move forward. Add into this mix Abit's excellent SoftMenu 2 for multiplier and bus speed settings, and you have a winner!

The BP6 may be solution for many people who want to run an SMP environment but can't afford the necessary hardware. We saw that the dual Celerons, running multithreaded applications, performed on par with some of Intel's heaviest hitters. Disk benchmarks were no problem for the BP6, utilizing the latest in speed via the Ultra ATA-66 transfer mode. We're looking forward to seeing the next q3test build running on dual Celerons on the Abit BP6!
