Evolva

Evolva Demo

First off, we wanted to take a look at Computer Arts upcoming 3D game, Evolva. If you haven't checked out Evolva, now's your chance. The game is a beauty to behold, although we're still getting used to the gameplay in general. Anyway, here's the first batch of screenshots:

Open wide!

GeForce 1&2 Performance with Celeron II [ Woah, they're bombs! @ 640 x 480 ] > View Full-Size in another window.

GeForce 1&2 Performance with Celeron II [ Nice water effects @ 640 x 480 ] > View Full-Size in another window.
Nice water effects

While the 5.xx drivers offer full scene anti-aliasing in Direct3D mode, the games that actually work with this feature are very hard to come by. So far we've only found one: Digital Anvil's Starlancer space combat game. That's it folks!

Fortunately, the GeForce 2 GTS is such a fast chip we can play games like Evolva at higher resolutions, which helps to eliminate some of the jaggies on the screen. The screenshots on this page were taken at 1024x768, and the framerate was smooth as silk.

More water effects

GeForce 1&2 Performance with Celeron II [ Whee! @ 640 x 480 ] > View Full-Size in another window.

GeForce 1&2 Performance with Celeron II [ Yum yum @ 640 x 480 ] > View Full-Size in another window.
Yum yum

GeForce 1&2 Performance with Celeron II [ BAM! @ 640 x 480 ] > View Full-Size in another window.
BAM!

GeForce 1&2 Performance with Celeron II [ More evolving... @ 640 x 480 ] > View Full-Size in another window.
More evolving...
