The next star in our line-up is the motherboard, the Asus P6T Deluxe. The P6T is based on the X58 chipset from Intel and is built by Asus, one of the premier developers of high performing PC components. The P6T Deluxe features an LGA1366 socket, 6 DDR3 slots with support for up to 12GB’s of memory, 6 SATAII ports configurable in RAID, as well as a whole host of other features. The P6T Deluxe is obviously designed to be Asus’ flagship X58 motherboard and it shows, considering the number of extra’s included in this board, from the 7.1 on-board audio to the 14 USB2.0 ports. With a fully tweakable BIOS and 100% Japanese capacitors, Asus has designed the P6T Deluxe for the ultimate enthusiast.

HIS ATI Radeon 4870X2 1GB CrossFireX
For maximum graphical performance, CyberPower went with two HIS Radeon 4870 X2 video cards in CrossFireX mode. These massive cards support 1GB of GDDR5 each, with memory speeds running at 3.6GHz effective and a core clock of 750Mhz. The 4870X2 is built on a 55 nanometer process and features 956 million transistors. To give you some perspective, the Core 2 Duo processors featured around 291 million transistors, so these GPUs certainly pack a serious punch. The 4870X2’s are almost 1 foot in length and 3 pounds in weight…and there are two of them! So, needless to say, the system is fairly hefty overall and not intended for LAN gaming. But when you think about it, if you are packing this kind of heat under the hood, I think it’s safe to say other gamers should be coming to you. CyberPower took great effort to ensure the cards were well packaged during shipment. Strategically placed foam pieces were laid between the cards internally and this helped to keep them from banging off one another.
