System Setup

Intro

With all the Detonator versions running about, we decided to test the latest Windows 2000 driver, mainly because the version number was so much higher than that of the current official driver. Our curiousity was sufficiently piqued when combining this with the fact that NVIDIA rarely ever "leaks" drivers for Windows 2000 only. Enough with the talk, onto the numbers then.

Test System Setup

AMD Thunderbird 1400 MHz

Abit KT7A RAID KT133A
VIA 4in1 version 4.32

128MB Mushkin Rev3 PC133 CAS2 SDRAM

GeForce3
GeForce2 Ultra
GeForce2 MX
Driver version Detonator 12.41
Driver version Detonator 14.20

IBM 30 GB Hard Drive
Windows 2000

Notes

We chose the GeForce3, Ultra, and MX because they represent what is currently out on the market. We could add the TNT2 if demand warrants.

 Random Rumor
There is a rumor going around that NVIDIA is having trouble implementing all their cool sound chip stuff on the nForce. This might delay the release of the nForce, or result in greatly diminished onboard audio performance.
