Introduction
Who's your Daddy?
Yes, we have another GeForce card review for you. If you're read our other reviews you probably already know that all GeForce cards perform great. If you've already decided to purchase a GeForce card, you're probably wonder which specific card to buy since it seems like everyone and their mom has a GeForce card to sell you.
With the purchase of STB, 3dfx now makes their own video cards instead of simply selling chips to manufacturers. S3 says that it will still sell chips to third party manufacturers even after acquiring Diamond Multimedia, but the only Savage 2000 based video card currently in production is the Diamond Viper II. Matrox and ATI have always produced their own boards, and that leaves NVIDIA as the only major fab-less graphics manufacturer left.
Now, for all the third party video card manufacturers, it's the GeForce or nothing. This is great for consumers, because there is an incredible amount of competition between all these manufacturers with each one vying to offer the best GeForce deal possible.
