How is the ELSA different?

Software Utilities

With all these GeForce cards on the market, every video card manufacturer has to do something to differentiate their products from the rest of the pack. ELSA offers users its ChipGuard, SmartRefresh, and SmartResolution software utilities.

The SmartRefresh and SmartResolution utilities are very similar to the common video card applications most manufacturers include with their products. ELSA SmartRefresh allows users to select virtually any refresh rate for your monitor -you won't be limited to just 75, 85 or 100Hz anymore. You can set your monitor to the maximum refresh rate possible, and SmartResolution gives you more resolution options beyond the normal 640, 800, 1024, etc...

ELSA's ChipGuard utility allows you to overclock the card without worrying about damaging the card because of heat. ChipGuard monitors chip temperature and fan operation and warns you if the fan fails or if the temperature rises above acceptable levels.

3D Revelator

Currently, ELSA is offering a special Erazor X/3D Revelator deal. When you buy an Erazor X video card between now and 12/31/99, you'll receive a coupon for a free pair of 3D Revelator glasses. Yes, ELSA even pays for the shipping and handling.

What are these 3D Revelator glasses? They are 3D stereo glasses that turn virtually any D3D game into a true 3D experience. 3D stereo seems to be gaining momentum in the gaming hardware industry. Wicked3D's eyeSCREAM is probably the best known stereo 3D technology out there, and S3 has recently announced its new Monster Shades product which is based on Wicked3D's technology. ASUS also includes a pair of stereo glasses with the ASUS AGP-V6600 GeForce Deluxe. You can read our original preview of the ELSA 3D Revelator glasses here.

What else is different about the Erazor X card? Just take a look at the card itself!
