Sandpaper helps...
Kenn:
I found that a problem too. After a day, my wrists were red, and if I kept it up, they would have been raw by the end of the next day. Interestingly, we have an earlier review unit that has nice, sanded edges. I certainly hope that process wasn't abandoned in the shipping version. I actually took my Everglide and ran it across a metal pad for a minute or so, and found that it did an excellent job of sanding down the edge to a point where it was bearable. Now if they could only fix the height issues.

It's just like you to sand down the mouse pad yourself. Well, I have to admit it did make a difference, but I really don't think it's something the consumer should have to do. To address the height problem, we spoke to Everglide, who informed us they are currently working on a thinner version of the pad, though their main concern is that a thinner version may snap in half too easily.
One thing I found interesting was their claim that the Everglide Attack Pad (a larger, gaming-oriented version of the EMS) was specifically designed to rest across your lap as you played. Trying this with the EMS, I found using it for gaming a little awkward (since you still have to reach forward to use the keyboard), but it was actually very comfortable to kick back in your chair and casually surf the web. That was definitely a spiffy little feature.
