System Requirements

Let's take a quick look at the system requirements. The base system requirements (CPU, memory, hard drive space) are not demanding at all, but there are a couple of things that may be problematic to some users.

Pentium 233MHz or higher processor with MMX

Windows 98 or later operating system

    64 MB RAM

45 MB available hard disk space

    Quad-speed CD-ROM drive

256 color display mode, super VGA

    An available USB port

    TCP/IP LAN or Internet connection

Enclosed Messenger Service software required for connection management features

Internet access with at least 33.6 kbps

Sound card with full-duplex chip set and functional Line Out/Microphone jacks

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later powser software recommended

User needs DirectX 8 API or later required for some games

Microsoft Mouse, Intellimouse, or compatible pointing device

These are the system requirements for full functionality with the headset and controller base. In order to chat with someone else, they have to have a few things, too:

Game Voice or Game Voice Share software

    TCP/IP LAN or Internet connection

Microphone, speakers, or a headset with microphone

Sound card with full-duplex chip set and functional Line Out/Microphone jacks

Hopefully nothing here screams out as being too bizarre or demanding. 233MHZ! 45 MB hard disk space! A few of these items do stand out, though.
