The DirectX 8 boards reign supreme in 3DMark 2001, with the GeForce3 Ti 200 trailing the Ti 500 by 10% at 700MHz and 800x600x32 and the GeForce4 Ti4600 by 22% with the same settings. By 1280x1024x32 the Ti 500 outpaces the Ti 200 by 12% and the GeForce4 performs 26% faster than the Ti 200. Considering the price discrepancy between the three boards, value conscious consumers would likely give the nod to the Ti 200 while performance users wouldn’t settle for anything less than the Ti 4600.

While it isn’t represented here, the Ti 4200 would make another tempting option. Priced at $199.99, the Ti 4200 ships with a 225MHz core (versus 300MHz in the Ti 4600) and 500MHz memory clock speed (650MHz in the Ti 4600).
