Overclocking/Q3 Shots
GLADIAC Overclocking
We were very impressed with the performance of our GLADIAC card at standard clock speed, but we know as a FiringSquad reader, you'd probably like to see how well the card overclocks. With a small modification to the Windows registry, overclocking the GLADIAC is a snap.
Simply open the Windows Registry Editor by typing "regedit" in the Run Menu of Windows. Then open the following directory:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global"
Right click on the "Global" directory and create a new key titled "NVTweak." Next, right-click on the NVTweak key and create a new dword value named "Coolbits." Adjust the value of Coolbits to "3" by double clicking on it and entering "3" in the value data field.
After a quick Windows restart go to the "Additional Properties" section of your display settings. Click on the "Hardware Options" tab and checkmark the "Allow clock frequency adjustments" setting. After that, you're ready to begin overclocking your card!
We were able to overclock our GLADIAC card to 230MHz core/360MHz memory with no problems. This is a very impressive overclock for such an early chip, later batches may be even more overclockable!

NV15 Quake 3 Level
Our jaws dropped when we first witnessed the NV15 tech demos. While screenshots are nice, watching the demos with your own eyes in real time is even more impressive.
When NVIDIA showed us their custom-made Quake 3 level during GDC we were just as impressed! See for yourself just how beautiful it is!
