Ballistics Report

Pros

A solid keyboard design
For those of you like me who thought that the original Zboard was more of a marketing device than a good keyboard for gaming, the Merc proves that Ideazon can create an all in one gaming PC keyboard with only a little compromise in the keyboard layout.

Improved gameplay for selected games
If the favorite games that you play are supported by the Merc’s mod files you should experience a much more fun and immersive experience with the left side gamepad, with its comfortable buttons and intuitive design.

Reasonable price
Ideazon sells the Merc on its web site for $39.99 and you can likely find it on retail web sites for even cheaper.

Cons

Not all games are supported
Most games older than a few years cannot use the Merc’s gamepad advantages (again, the programmable key drivers being beta tested could solve that problem). There is also no RTS game support for the special mod drivers.

No on-board USB ports
We liked this feature on the original Zboard design and we think gamers who want to connect things like a mouse or maybe an iPod to their keyboard might miss it as well.

Some minor layout changes
Some people might not like that the number keys on the right side have to be toggled on to be activated.
