Notes

The network kit includes two PC adapters and one printer adapter -enough to build a two system LAN. Additional PC and printer adapters are available for $39.99 MSRP each. The PassPort Plug-In adapters look like rounded white bricks. The size of the adapters might interfere with their placement. You probably won't be able to fit an adapter behind a bookcase or some other piece of furniture without a great deal of work. The two "line conditioners" are simply two surge protectors for your computers.

Plug-In Adapter

The PassPort Plug-In Network's 350kbps data rate is on the slow side compared to other networking technologies. Yes, the Plug-In Network is ten times faster than a normal 33.6kbps modem, but it's also thirty times slower than a 10Mbps network. Most of the wireless and phoneline networking kits we've seen have 1Mbps data rates, and new phoneline technologies are now capable of reaching 10Mbps.
