Uses?
Ok so we've pretty much taken FPS gaming out of the realm of possibilities for this product, although you might be able to play simpler games that require less. But even if we jump to Quake3 the number of keys needed is still pretty high, as the carryable weapon count in that game is much higher than CounterStrike. So that still leaves games other than FPSs for the SpeedPad. Driving? Nope. Why buy this when you can get a wheel? Action? I'd rather have a gamepad, thank you. Sure there is a D-pad on the side of the SpeedPad, but you try and play a game like Street Fighter with one hand and prepare for some major pain. RTS games? Possibly, but we think it might be reaching in terms of benefits. One of the only instances where we could see this being useful is if you are playing a game with tons of keys, that don't need to be pressed rapidly, possibly a flight simulator, or some other flying game that has millions of buttons with which to target and change weapons. Of course you'd still need a joystick to go along with it. One can only pray that the Nostromo software will let the joystick drivers live.
The click of the keys
I'm probably the least anal of the bunch here. I have some tastes as to how the keys sound and feel but I haven't yet gone out and spent an arm and a leg on a hardcore Omnikey. The feel of the keys on the Nostromo kind of bugged me. They didn't have a reassuring push or click to them. Nor did they have the cushy feel of a soft keyboard. This is totally a personal thing, so go to a store and see how it feels to you; most people have different preferences when it comes to this.
